[Santa Fe, New Mexico] (April,1 2013) – In honor of Earth Month, Rock Paper Scissor Salonspa joins Aveda to raise $5 million dollars for clean water.

Rock Paper Scissor Salonspa will participate in the global 24-hour Cut-a-thon on Earth Day, April 22.  Salons worldwide – from Tokyo, to Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Minneapolis – will volunteer their time to offer haircuts to raise money for clean water initiates.

In addition to raising money for clean water, the salons will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most money raised for a charity from haircuts.

Salon professionals in more than 30 countries have collectively raised more than $26 million in support of Earth Month to combat the clean water crisis.  Funds raised by Rock Paper Scissor will benefit WildEarth Guardians – a local charity that protects and restores wildlife, wild rivers, and wild places in the American West.
